Southwark Diocesan Evangelical Union Linking Evangelical Christians in the Diocese of
Southwark
Southwark Diocesan Evangelical Union links individuals and parishes in the Diocese of Southwark in south London and east Surrey
¨
We are members of the Church of England and belong to
a variety of churches throughout the Diocese
¨
We are evangelical Christians. This means we have a
personal faith in Jesus Christ, we are committed to sharing his Gospel of
forgiveness of new life, and we seek to base all our life and teaching on his
word, the Bible. For a fuller account of what we believe please click here.
The SDEU is linked with a national network of Diocesan Evangelical groups to the Anglican Evangelical Assembly and the Church of England Evangelical Council which seek to represent evangelical concerns within the Church of England.
The SDEU often works with two
other groups in the Diocese: Southwark Reform and the Southwark Diocesan
Renewal in the Spirit Group . The three groups have an overlapping membership
and many concerns in common, notwithstanding the distinctive emphases of each
group.
